Day 1: More Canterbury and the Official Beginning of our Tour
A Little More Pre-Tour Exploration
We slept in a bit today, trying to get our sleep schedules back on track. We had a full breakfast at the hotel, which allowed us to just snack for lunch before our group dinner tonight. Even though it was a rainy morning (until about 3:00 in the afternoon), we ventured out for a while and bought a few things that we didn't want to pack on the flight. Fun fact. . . . I love that our hotel is named after a Shakespeare character--Falstaff! Toward evening, we met both our group and John, our guide. At first I thought this would be a subdued group . . . Nope! This group has energy and personality. Pam and I are buddied up with Jenny and Jane from Washington. We took a short walking tour and saw some new areas along the river we can explore. We went up to the church and then had an orientation meeting in a little meeting room. After that, we walked to our restaurant for our group dinner. We got to know quite of a few of our tour mates already. After dinner, we took a little stroll along the river before heading back to our room for the evening. |
I'd like a little more, please . . .
